What will be included in the Certification Exam?
Both the programming exam and interview are comprised of a set of theoretical and coding challenges as shown in the Exam Content section of each certificate. You will have to write code and justify your logic and reasoning. A comprehensive list of individual competences is also listed as a part of the Certification Guide for every certificate.
Is the Certification Exam free?
Yes, all certifications, exams and interviews are free of charge.
How do I get certified?
To receive a Certification, you must do the following: Sign-up for the next available date of the Certification Exam you're interested in; Complete the programming exam; Complete the interview. You will have the opportunity to defend your work in the programming exam. If successful, you will receive a signed certificate.
Do I need any specific software to complete the exam?
To submit the programming exam you'll need a stable internet connection and a modern browser (we suggest Chrome). To complete the coding challenges, you will need additional programming IDEs and tools, specific for the Certification Exam you're taking. Make sure to prepare those in advance. For more details, refer to the specific Certification Exam you plan to take.
How many times can I take the exam?
There is no limit to the number of times you can attend the exam.
Can I take the exam with the help of someone else?
No, the exam is strictly individual. Using outside help during the programming exam is not accepted. Moreover, having someone to help you on the exam will most likely lead to failure in the interview, where in-depth justification should be provided for your answers.
Can you search through the internet while solving the exam?
You will be able to search for additional resources while working on the exam, however the time is limited and anything besides basic syntax checks will have adverse effect on your overall performance. Note that plagiarism or copy/pasting entire classes/functions is prohibited and you might fail when such issues are suspected.
What is the certificate that I will receive?
If you pass your certification successfully, you will receive a digitally signed Certificate. You can include the Certificate in your CV, web page or share it on social media. In addition, all candidates that have passed the Certificate Exam will be shortlisted for employment opportunities at ScaleFocus.
